Oops, I did it again… Here we are with ‘Dramatic Funk Themes Vol. 3’! In 2008 I started the series with big funk scores from the British Themes International Music Library repertoire only. The follower featured various British music libraries such as KPM, Music De Wolfe, Bruton or Josef Weinberger. On Volume 3 the focus turned to a more global view on library music and presents 20 (vinyl: 18) previously unreleased pearls originating from Germany, France, UK and the USA. Available on CD + LP.
The library gems from this album originate from the following library labels: Conroy, Golden Ring Records, Hudson Music, KPM Music, Music De Wolfe, Omnimusic, Patchwork, Peer International Library, Robert Hall Productions, Selected Sound, Studio One and UBM Record.

Judging by the soundclips on Soundcloud, this is going to be one of the best compilations released this year...only heard one or two tracks before (On The Sweeney compilation if memory serves) and unlike most compilations these days, no filler at all, every track hits somebody's spot.
ReplyDeleteI saw that Amazon are doing an MP3 digital download for a very reasonable seven pounds though often their bitrate isn't always true fixed 320kbps so I try and buy from somewhere like Junodownload....is there anywhere you know where I can get a digital copy aside from Amazon? I checked the usual online suspects but could not find it anywhere.
ps> Is there going to be a Vol 2 of the Cosmic Future Groove series? I loved the first volume as its the late seventies/early eighties electronic and disco library albums that interest me the most....

ReplyDeletewell, the percentaged quota of those people who are observing, downloading files from this site to those who buy the comps (in LP or CD format) that are focussing the best library stuff, is terrifying low!
i have to assume that 95% of you are just downloading this stuff looking for undiscovered sample stuff and not willing to pay a few bucks to get a new LP or CD...
the music industry is not yet at its end but it has to be the end for smaller labels producing specialised products... i'm afraid, this is it!

since 3 or 4 years, I do the best I can to support all my favorites reissue labels (and also it a real pleasure for me to have all my CD's personnally autographed by label managers...)and buy each month 150 to 200 euros of music.
